Member of the Dominica Freedom Party says a court ruling last week involving election petitions could be seen as an opportunity to examine the country’s legal system.

The Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court High Court has struck out a number of petitions submitted by the United Workers Party which pointed to irregularities during the December 18, 2009 general elections

He tells Kairi News that the Opposition and citizens should have an input into any changes, new or revised version of these pieces of legislations

The court also ruled that Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit and Education Minister Peter Saint Jean will face trial on charges that their election to parliament in 2009 was invalid as a consequence of their dual citizenship.
