
The Court has given March 17th 2010 as the hearing date for elections in the election petitions that were filed with respect to elections of December 18th filed against the Dominica Labour Party
The announcement was made by the UWP at the second session of the peoples parliament carried live on radio from Marigot on Wednesday night
The Roseau central seat was won by Noris Prevost of the UWP, the Salisbury seat was won by Hector Sprags John and the Marigot Seat was also won by Edison James of the United Workers Party.
The United Workers Party (UWP) on January 11 2010 filed five election petitions to challenge the results of the December 18, 2009 general elections.
The La Plaine, St Joseph, Grand Fond, Salibya and Veille Case seats are being challenged in courts.
The UWP claimed that there were irregularities and bribery during the election campaign and on Election Day that gave the incumbent Dominica Labour Party 18 out of the 21 seats which was at stake.
Leader of the UWP Ron Green lost his seat to Peter St.Jean in the Laplaine Constituency.
Meantime leader of the UWP Ron Green says December 18th 2009 was the ultimate proof beyond reasonable doubt that there was powere seized by any means in Dominica
Mr Green says without what happened on December 18 2009, there would probably not have been a Peoples Parliament
