Tourism Minister Ian Douglas says Dominica’s tourism sector has weathered the impact of the global financial crisis.

He was addressing the official opening of a tourism stakeholders meeting at the Public Service Training Center today.

Douglas says while Dominica’s tourism was able to stay afloat, it was affected by the crisis.

Meantime Chief Executive Officer of Discover Dominica Colin Piper is calling for the development of a strategy and action plan 2010/2015 for Dominica’s tourism sector.

Piper told a stakeholders meeting today, that the plan would review and revise some of the goals and objectives contained in the original tourism master plan.
